Most Slytherin aesthetic image have green painted walls. But you can achieve the same effect if you can’t or don’t want to paint the walls.

Surprisingly, you may stay more authentic to the book and the movies with neutral walls because the Slytherin common room did not feature green walls. The effect was achieved through a strategic placement of green accessories and blue-green light.

Creating your own Harry Potter-themed room is a lot of fun, but sometimes you get stumped looking for the perfect decorative items to infuse the magic into your space in an authentic and elevated way.

Visitors to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando remember the iconic Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom in the Hogwarts Castle waiting queue for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey attraction. That’s where Ron, Harry, and Hermione appear on the balcony and talk to the visitors about getting a tour of the castle.

I wanted to replicate the same feeling of old-time magic you get from the movie sets and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando. While there is a lot of branded Harry Potter merchandise for sale at retailers, most of my decor choices were original vintage and antique finds that came with authenticity and a low price tag.

Let’s admit it, Slytherin common room is truly inspiring, imposing, and gorgeous. It is also very large and features an immensely high ceiling and impressive architectural details. The replica may not work for every space, but if you do have a good size room to work with, I would recommend getting a few big pieces while keeping the clutter away to create an impression of a large space.
